Touching Hearts At Home Makes Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 List

Affordable opportunity in a rapidly growing industry with a business model that offers strong support for franchise owners are seen as strong positives

January’s arrival often means renewed research by entrepreneurs into potential opportunities that align with their interests. Many begin by poring over lists and research done by highly respected media outlets and organizations, including the 2019 Entrepreneur magazine Franchise 500 list, which is where they will uncover the value of a Touching Hearts at Home in-home senior care franchise. In fact, Touching Hearts has made this list, which is a ranking of all types of franchise opportunities, including some of the world’s best-known brands, six times now.

“Even though we are no stranger to this listing of the franchising’s best and most successful brands, we are always excited and proud when Entrepreneur calls attention to what a great opportunity a Touching Hearts at Home franchise is,” says Scott Kummel, Director of Franchise Sales. “There is a lot of competition to make it onto this valued and valuable ranking, and we are very pleased that our hard work, and that of our franchise owners, is being recognized.”

Annual ranking considers many operational aspects

This is the magazine’s 40th annual ranking, and it looks at everything from regulatory changes to trends and demographics. Response was strong, with 1,094 companies supplying their FDD and other information. To be eligible, a franchisor must be seeking new franchise owners in the United States or Canada and had at least 10 units open and operational as of July 31, 2018, one of which had to be in North America.

The research team uses a proprietary formula to tally the final order. Along the way, five areas, or “pillars,” are taken into consideration to compile the data points used for scoring, according to the publication. Here they are as presented by the magazine, which adds that these pillars and factors are not listed in order of importance

Costs & Fees: Franchise fee, total investment and royalty fees

Size & Growth: Open and operating units, growth rates and closures

Support: Training times, marketing support, operational support, franchisor infrastructure, financing availability and litigation

Brand Strength: Social media, system size, years in business and years franchising

Financial Strength & Stability: Franchisor’s audited financial statements

In-home senior care industry keeps expanding

Touching Hearts at Home’s inclusion on the list shows both industry and brand strength, and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon, Kummel says.

“We just wrapped up our best year ever in terms of adding new franchise locations, and Touching Hearts at Home franchise owners posted double-digit gross billing increases,” he says. “There is a lot of competition in the in-home senior care industry, and we are well positioned to maintain and grow our market share thanks to solid business fundamentals, a compassionate and professional approach to the clients we serve and an outstanding team of franchise owners.”
