Touching Hearts Provides Opportunity for Profit While Making a Difference

Franchisee Chris Greene discusses the rewards of Touching Hearts at Home franchise ownership

Like many of our franchisees, Chris Greene got his start in caring for seniors because of a need in his own family. Chris’s grandfather had Alzheimer’s, which required his whole family to pitch in and help. This experience showed Chris just how great the need was for quality, affordable, non-medical senior home care, and ultimately inspired him to become a Touching Hearts at Home franchisee.

“I was looking for a new challenge, and I also wanted to do something meaningful,” Chris says. “Touching Hearts at Home offers me the perfect balance of challenge and reward. I know this business is making a difference in people’s lives, helping seniors stay in their homes while also providing a helping hand to family members who care for them.”

For over five years, Chris has run a Touching Hearts at Home franchise in Westminster, Colorado, just north of Denver. He says building relationships with others in his community has been a huge part of his business success. “I have some fantastic neighbors in the Denver metro area and have grown really close with other franchise owners,” Chris says. “We’ve bonded over our shared commitment to quality and excellence in business. Plus, the overall leadership from Renae Peterson has been key. Her passion and experience inspire me and my staff every day.”

An industry of care

When asked what advice he had for succeeding as a Touching Hearts at Home franchisee, Chris said it’s all about caring and passion. “You need to have a heart for what you do; you need to care. Beyond just running the business, you need to have a drive to provide superior service for families. Also, it’s key to be receptive to other people’s suggestions and methods and be able to adapt and adopt.”

Chris says that throughout his time as a Touching Hearts at Home franchisee, one of the things that most impressed him is how the company sets their franchisees up for success. “You are given everything you need to be successful. All you need to do is be receptive and willing to learn from the company’s leadership, to replicate the success of other franchisees.”

Looking to the future, Chris says he has plans to expand his franchise. “The beauty of Touching Hearts at Home is that the company works closely with you to create a territory that will help your business thrive. My franchise can grow exponentially with the amount of territory that we have, allowing me to create a very successful business with just one franchise.”

Touching Hearts at Home franchise is a ‘feel-good,’ ‘do-good’ business

Overall, Chris loves working in senior home care. “This is a great business,” he says. “You feel good at the end of the day and make a difference in people’s lives. I can’t say enough how much the other franchise owners have helped me. They’re high quality people, very supportive, and instrumental in my growth.”

As a millennial, Chris Greene is a rather typical member of his generation. Today’s young adults have a hunger to do work that matters and an affinity for pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors. It’s no surprise they are opting to own service-oriented franchises.

“In the last few years, we have seen an increase in millennials who choose to franchise with us,” says Renae Peterson, Touching Hearts at Home CEO and founder. “Being a Touching Hearts franchisee is a perfect career path for millennials. These 20- and 30-somethings are some of our most successful franchisees. When you’re only 25 years old, you don’t have that fear of failure — you just want to dive in.”

Touching Hearts is the brand that provides millennials — like Chris — a pathway to success and a meaningful, joyful career based on helping seniors.
