Employee-nominated awards single out the senior care franchise as an efficient company in annual rankings
Being nominated for an award by your employees as a nice feeling. Winning that award, and others to boot, is even better. That’s the position that Touching Hearts at Home franchise owner Brandon Briesath found himself in recently when his company took home a pair of honors in the Milwaukee (Wisconsin) Journal Sentinel’s Milwaukee Top Workplaces Award. The franchise received the No. 1 small business award in the fewer than 150 employees category, and it also received the Doers Award for doing business well and efficiently.
“We had no idea,” says Briesath. “Back in January, the top 150 businesses were named, and then nothing else was said. We didn’t even know there were additional categories, such as the Doers Award, so that was quite a shock!”
Benefiting from engaged, enthusiastic employees
The honors weren’t doled out lightly either. After employees submitted their company for consideration, an outside consulting company worked with Briesath and his leadership team on an employee survey. A certain percentage of them had to complete the online questionnaire, and following that process, the top 150 companies were named. It was at a recent banquet honoring those 150 firms.
“We were really excited to be nominated, because the whole process starts with the employees,” Briesath says. “It’s one thing to believe you’re a good employer, but another when the employees give you a vote of confidence. And to take the No. 1 spot in our category? That’s just amazing.”
Strong history of quality service
While this was Briesath’s first foray into this particular competition, he and his team are old hands at operating their Touching Hearts at Home in-home senior care franchise. He began operations more than 10 years ago as one of the first Touching Hearts franchise owners, and says he’s excited about how his business and the brand in general have grown.
“We work a lot with seniors, but also with people who have had hospital and rehab stays,” he says. “There was a lot of competition when we started, and there’s even more now. This award proves when you do things professionally and treat people well, whether they are a client or staff member, you can grow and do great things.”
Now is the time to join the Touching Hearts at Home franchise family. We are a pioneer in the non-medical, in-home senior care industry. We anticipate rapid growth for our company as the Baby Boomer population ages. A Touching Hearts at Home franchise business is an opportunity to make a living doing meaningful work.
