Our franchise owners come from a variety of backgrounds but all have a passion for helping others
Touching Hearts at Home is a unique brand; what makes us unique is the type of people we attract as franchise owners. We carefully select our franchise owners to join our supportive culture, based upon service, integrity and compassion. Despite their different backgrounds and gifts, all our franchise owners share a commonality: a passion for other-oriented service and a commitment to make people’s lives better.
“Touching Hearts is an absolutely wonderful opportunity — both emotionally and financially — for people who are driven and have that entrepreneurial spirit,” CEO and founder Renae Peterson says. “It’s extremely rewarding to help someone — to know that at the end of the day, you made a difference in someone’s life and you changed it for the better.”

“In addition to the wonderful support that I’ve received from the corporate office, I’m also very excited to be able to work with the other franchisees. They’ve reached out and have been very open for me to call and ask them anything. They’ve all gone through the process and are invested in making my franchise as successful as theirs.”
— Suzanne Desfosses-Gilliam, Touching Hearts at Home Franchise Owner, Buffalo, New York
“The industry is going to continue to grow because of the population of Baby Boomers. I think we’re right on the ground floor at an opportune time to be able to really service a large group of people.”
— Brandon Briesath, Touching Hearts at Home Franchise Owner, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
“I had always worked in the corporate world before. I didn’t want that 9-5, come in, leave, and you don’t make a difference at the end of the day. I wanted to be in an industry that I did feel passionate about, that I felt was helping people and at the end of the day, you left with a really good feeling. The outlook for this industry is fantastic. Everybody’s aging and everybody, for the most part, wants to stay at home while they age. They just need a little bit of help to stay where they want to be.”
—Kelly George, Touching Hearts at Home Franchise Owner, Dayton, Ohio
“Over the past year, Bryan and I have worked harder than we have in our whole lives. It is often easy to get so caught up in the day to day that we don’t realize how far we have come in such a short time. Last night, surrounded by our peers, we were reminded of the great opportunity we have to make an impact on the lives of others. In an industry that is forever evolving, I feel like we will be eligible for the “Rookie of the Year” award each year. We have certainly learned so much the past year. Most of all, I’ve learned how important it is to surround yourself with people that share your vision and passion for helping others. We are so grateful to be a part of the Touching Hearts at Home family and honored to be an industry that allows us to make a living while serving others.”
— Haley Johnson, Touching Hearts at Home Franchise Owner, Brentwood, TN, winner of the 2019 “Rookie of the Year” award

“The best case scenario of any kind of work is that you have a successful business, you can provide for your family and show your kids that you’re a successful woman business owner while at the same time, provide something that’s worthwhile. Everyday we hear from our clients and everyone involved in our client’s care how much meaning our service provides them in their lives. There couldn’t be anything better — that you could merge the two: having both a successful business and doing something that really gives back.”
A personal experience leads many to choose a career with Touching Hearts at Home
Many of our franchisees come to us by way of a personal experience with an aging loved one. Whether their parent or grandparent needed a little extra help with basic chores and companionship for a few hours a week or required almost non-stop care as they declined with a more devastating disease, many of our franchise owners know first-hand the difference senior care made in their families’ lives.
“A big part of why I’m here starts with my grandma, Joella,” Denver franchisee Ryan Fensler says. “I was blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with her growing up. I feel like each day we’re able to surround ourselves with phenomenal Caregivers and go out and make a difference in the community. I don’t know of any other industry where I could get that sense of fulfillment — where we’re giving to others.”
An ideal Touching Hearts franchisee is an individual who wants to own their own business, control their destiny and a person who is dedicated to helping seniors. Our franchise owners love the professional reward of independent business ownership and the personal reward of knowing their work changes people’s lives. There’s no one-size-fits-all litmus test for success in Touching Hearts, with one exception. All our franchisees thrive on serving others.
